what if u were livin yours instead of hatin mine?
why are we here? what is the purpose of life? although these seem like pretty deep metaphysical questions I will try and approach them in this blog. Since the dawn of time humanity has been tryin to improve its standing in the world, and so far we seem to have succeded. If we are doing so good then, why is their still problems. I beleive humanity is doing great, but there are some things we need to improve. one is all the hate not just in the world but in our country. We look down on a variety of people in this country wether it is because of their skin color, religious beliefs, sexual oreintation or other things. I think the reason we look down on people is because we think we can change people. I dont think we should try to change anyone. In america if you dont have money then you worthless, I hate that feeling. Although I was not born into poverty I went to a "wealthy" school known as dunlap. Even though I hate to sterotype Im going to have to say the majority of the people there were spoiled beyond belief. Kids drove cars to school that cost more then most of the houses I've lived in, and they looked down there nose at those who didn't have a nice car or wear designer jeans. I couldnt stand my school just because of the majority of the people who went there, people there didnt understand to concept of respect and friendship. Someone would talk nice to your face when they wanted something, but then the second your back was turned they would talk bad about you. people there would use you to get what they wanted then throw you away like a used tissue. Which brings me back to my poin. What if we took the money the differneces away from those people, then they would have nothing to brag about, sometimes I think that the only problem with our society is the $.

Joe, This is quite a rant. You've uncovered some very crucial questions here...but you start promising the meaning of life and end up talking about the only problem with our society is money. Split up these issues and deal with one per blog for the remainder of the semester. I'm excited to hear your thoughts, especially when paired with your personal experience.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Steph on this one. You started with the intention to pursue details about the meaning of life and ended up slipping into an alternate subtopic. But I can't blame you, writing about the meaning of life could be pages long and get every word understood would be equally if not harder.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with what you said, "the majority of people who went there, people there didn't understand to concept of respect and friendship." Respect, common courtesy, manners, and the idea of true friendships has been fading for awhile now. Probably because of the many variables that cause everything else in society to change.
Ah but the rants are what make the world fun. To start off I beleive the purpose of life is for each person to make the world just a tad bit better during there stay. I agree that humanity is great. Really great, in fact better than ever. I am a little confused that you said you don't think people should change right before you said people should stop hating other thing. I think that if a person goes from hating to not hating things that is a change. I also believe that the people that do hate are more valuble to society if they can live comfortably with there hatered (so long as no one is hurt mind you). Is it not a privalige to hate things while you live on earth, hate is just as powerful as love just in the opisite direction. Hate what you want Love what you can.
ReplyDeletethe almighty dallor though I do beleive it to be evil (and know it to be spinless) i beleive it gives us a direction, a meaning and purpose to move society foward. I hate the dallor but i hate the government more(not relevent to comment really thats just a little something for you.) now to poverty, I was born into poverty, i went to peoria schools until i was in 5th grade. I do not feel my life meaninless , i think it a privalge i see the world in a much more unique way than the "richers" (thats a joke make sure you laugh at it and don't misunderstand) i see the world as something to look up to not to look down at. Rant on good buddy ummmmmmmm... 10:4
